‘Young Frankenstein’ Actress Cloris Leachman Passes Away at 94

Today, legendary actress Cloris Leachman has passed at the age of 94 due to natural causes, according to her management. While most horror fans remember her iconic role as Frau Blucher in 1974’s Young Frankenstein, Leachman had a prolific acting career that spanned seven decades and over seventy films including The Last Picture Show, for which she earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Ruth Popper. She also appeared in a slew of television roles including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where she earned herself a spinoff in 1975 called Phyllis. Over the years, she never stopped working appearing in other TV shows like Malcolm in the Middle, American Gods and even voiced Peter Griffin’s mother in Family Guy.

Besides her role in Mel Brooks’ classic Young Frankenstein, Leachman created soim any memorable roles in major films from High Anxiety, The Muppet Movie, Scary Movie 4, Bad Santa and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
