Now it’s Argentina’s turn to tackle demonic forces.

Legions–an Argentinian horror film that had its world premiere at Fantasia Fest in Montreal this past weekend–will be released later this year by XYZ Films, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–directed by Fabian Forte (Dead Man Tells His Own Tale) and produced by Javier Diaz–stars German De Silva and Lorena Vega.

Legions tells the story of a powerful sorcerer, Antonio, who is “locked away in an asylum while evil, demonic forces take control of Argentina,” according to the synopsis.

If Antonio can escape and find his daughter Helena, “their combined strength could save the country, but Helena has forgotten how to use her powers. Antonio must reteach her the ways of magic and be humanity’s last hope against this ancient evil.”

XYZ executive vice president James Emanuel Shapiro said Legions is “filled with amazing practical effects and loads of gore. It’s a testament to the greatness of Latin American horror. I can’t wait for audiences to see Fabian’s latest epic.”
