Let’s not get hysterical.
The ongoing Writers’ Guild of America strike took another genre casualty this week, as the Peacock horror series Hysteria! has stopped production in Atlanta, according to a report on Deadline.
The series–starring Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis, Nikki Hahn, Julie Bowen and horror icon Bruce Campbell–was created by executive producer Matthew Scott Kane, who acts as showrunner along with David A. Goodman.
The show explores America’s “dark history of mass hysteria through the story of the 1980s teenage satanic panic,” according to the logline. Specifically, the storyline deals with the disappearance of a varsity quarterback and a heavy metal band that capitalizes on the Satan craze.
