Writers’ Room Starts To Form For ‘Wednesday’ Season 2

As Gomez would likely say: Capital idea!

Wednesday–the monster Netflix spinoff of the classic ’60s The Addams Family TV show–has not yet officially been renewed for a second season, but all signs point that way.

The show’s producers have already started putting together a writers’ room for Season 2, according to a report on Deadline, and are scouting for locations in which to shoot. In fact, sources say an official announcement of a second season is expected early next year (which is not very far away).

Wednesday–from executive producer and director Tim Burton and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar–recently became only the third show to break the one billion hours viewed barrier–and in less than a month.

In the hit show, Wednesday (played by Jenna Ortega) enters Nevermore Academy, and “attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago,” according to the synopsis.

Joining Ortega in the cast are Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, George Burcea as Lurch, Victor Dorobantu as the handy Thing and Christina Ricci (who played Wednesday on the big screen) as Marilyn Thornhill.
