It’ll be a short summer vacation.
Stranger Things 4 may have just come to its emotional conclusion, but series creators Matt and Ross Duffer are already getting their ducks in a row for the show’s fifth and final season.
The Duffer Brothers told Collider they’ll start assembling a writers’ room for the much-anticipated fifth season in early August. “We’re going to take a little vacation in July,” Ross Duffer said, “and then we’re going to come back. I know that the writers’ room is going to start in that first week of August.”
Of course, that doesn’t mean Season 5 will hit Netflix anytime soon. But, at least the wheels are turning and storylines will be bandied about in the next few seeks.
And one advantage this time around, the Duffers said, is that they had looked at the big picture and how Seasons 4 and 5 were part of one grand scheme. “We could look at it as a whole,” they explained. “And we outlined all of Season 5. For the first time, we were able to look at it globally–not just Season 4, but Season 5 as well.”
More good news: While fans are waiting for the last season, the first four seasons of Stranger Things–including the final two oversized episodes of Season 4–are now streaming on Netflix.
