Which witch is which?
A reboot of the 1986 supernatural horror pic Witchboard has started shooting in Montreal, and a quartet of actors has joined Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower in the growing cast, according to a report on Deadline.
Madison Iseman (Jumanji franchise), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building). Antonia Desplat (Shantaram) and Charlie Tahan (Ozark) have signed on for the feature from director Chuck Russell (The Blob remake), who also wrote the screenplay with Greg McKay.
The remake–which does not yet have a release window–follows Emily (Iseman), her fiance Christian (Dominguez) and a group of friends as they open a cafe in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
But, “a darkness descends over Emily when she discovers an ancient pendulum board–once used to summon spirits–with Christian seeking help for her from occult expert Alexander Babtiste,” according to the synopsis.
Babtiste, though, has secrets of his own, “knowing the fateful bloodlines that bind them all to the Witchboard. Then, a coven of white witches, a masked ball and the legacy of Witch Queen Naga Soth are all part of a dangerous game that puts Emily’s very soul at risk.”
