Be afraid, Tinkerbell. Be very afraid.
Another bizarre twist on a beloved children’s classic is in the works. Two months ago, Horror News Network reported that the filmmakers behind the horror version of A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh were planning a new (and horrific) take on Peter Pan–and this week it was confirmed that this film will indeed fly onto screens.
The new horror pic, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be called Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare, but no additional plot details or casting choices have yet been revealed. Scott Jeffrey, the producer of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, has hinted that, in the pic, Neverland will be “kind of a freak show. We’ll take a tormented look at some of these characters–such as Tinkerbell.”
As for Wiinnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey–from writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield–that film will release in hundreds of theaters across the U.S. Feb. 15, 2023, as well as on screens in Mexico and Canada.
The movie–described as “a horror retelling of the famous legend of Winnie the Pooh”–stars Craig David Dowsett as Pooh Bear, Chris Cordell as Piglet and Nikolai Leo as Christopher Robin.
