Will Poulter Cast as Pennywise in Cary Fukunaga’s ‘It’

English actor Will Poulter (We’re The Millers, THe Maze Runner, Revenant) has been cast as the villain Pennywise in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘It’ from director Cary Fukunaga.  The two-part movie is set to start production in June. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are producing. 

The story centers around a group of teens, the Losers Club, who must fight the creature ‘It’. Many years later ‘It’ returns and they must fight again, despite having no memory of the past battle.  The first film is going to tell the kids’ story and the second is going to tell the adults’.

‘It’ is known to take the form a a clown with killer teeth.  Originally an older actor was to play the part, however scheduling ruled out their other choices for the film. Tim Curry played Pennywise in the original 1990 TV mini-series adaptation.
