Wild Rover Featuring the Sacrifice One Shot Review

Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Writer: Michael Avon Oeming
Artist: Michael Avon Oeming

Synopsis: Like his mother before him, Shane’s an alcoholic. But his family curse goes deeper than that—Shane needs to overcome the black magic at the heart of his addiction by killing a liquor demon if he hopes to reclaim his soul.

Our Thoughts: Sometimes a concept which seems cool can absolutely flop. Luckily this comic had veteran Michael Avon Oeming attached and the one-shot was a success.

Michael Avon Oeming writes a spectacular story which helps the reader relate to the demons of alcoholism. We feel the real emotion that Shane is going through as he tries with all of his might to not to give in to a disease that affects many throughout the world.

The art is gritty and suits the whole feel of the book. The demon in his stomach really helps drive home the point of how terrible this disease is.

If you are looking for an interesting one-shot I definitely recommend this book from Dark Horse.
