At long last, thirty-two years later to be exact, the Werewolf TV show will finally get a first legal video release.
The good folks at Elephant Films will release a 6 DVD box set complete with a 52-page book on October 26, 2020, according to a report from Vents Magazine. The collection will be available for pre-order in August for 39.99.
While Elephant Films is a French firm, English speakers need not worry as the DVD will have the original actors voices and an option to turn on/off subtitles.
Created by Frank Lupo who also co-wrote the series with Tom Blomquist, Werewolf was directed by James Darren and starred John J. York, Lance LeGault and Chuck Connors. The series ran for one season and contained 29 episodes which aired on Fox from July 11, 1987 – August 21, 1988.
The show follows Eric Cord (John J. York), a college student transformed into a werewolf who undergoes a quest to rid himself of his curse by killing the apparent originator of his ‘bloodline,’ a drifter named Janos Skorzeny played by Chuck Connors. While pursuing Skorzeny, Cord himself is pursued by the persistent bounty hunter “Alamo” Joe Rogan (Lance LeGault).
