What’s all the howling about?

Werewolf by Night–the upcoming Marvel Studios Halloween special–will claw its way onto Disney+ Oct. 7, and this week, several more cast members (and the run time) were revealed, according to a report on Collider.

The 52-minute special (something new for Marvel)–from director Michael Giacchino and screenwriters Peter Cameron (Moon Knight) and Heather Quinn (Hawkeye)–stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Jack Russell (aka Werewolf by Night) and Laura Donnelly as monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone.

Those two leads will be joined by Harriet Sansom Harris as Verusa, the leader of a secret group of monster hunters; Al Hamacher as Billy Swan, Eugenie Bondurant as Linda and Kirk Thatcher as Jovan. In addition, Jaycob Maya, Daniel J. Watts and Leonardo Nam have been cast in undisclosed role.

Also slated to appear in the special are Ulysses Bloodstone, Elsa’s monster-hunting father (who has become an animated, zombie-like being), and Man-Thing, the fan-favorite Marvel Comics swamp creature.

The basic storyline of the special follows a secret group of monster hunters “who gather at Bloodstone Castle following the death of their leader and engage in a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic–which will bring them face-to-face with a dangerous monster.”
