Creepy and kooky–Part 2.
The hit Netflix series Wednesday–based, of course, on the classic ’60s TV series The Addams Family–will return for a second season, and now fans have a general idea when the show should start filming the next chapter.
Sophie Holland, the show’s casting director, recently told Deadline it’s a bit early to set a production date–especially considering the snafu caused by the continuing Writers Guild of America strike– but things are moving in the right direction.
“It’s still early,” Holland said, “and I’m still waiting on the script. We hope to roll at the end of the year. I think there’s some exciting and kooky characters coming up in Season 2.”
Wednesday–led by executive producer and director Tim Burton and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar–has so far followed the Addams teenager as she enters Nevermore Academy, masters her newfound psychic ability and solves a 25-year-old supernatural mystery.
Led by Jenna Ortega in the title role, the cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, George Burcea as Lurch, Victor Dorobantu as the ever-handy Thing and Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill.
