WB Releases New Trailer for Blade Runner 2049

by Sean McLaughlin

Warner Brothers Pictures just released the second official trailer for the much-anticipated sequel Blade Runner 2049, and it’s everything we were hoping it would be.  Set thirty years after the events of 1982’s sci-fi smash Blade Runner, this film will bring back veteran Harrison Ford as detective Rick Deckard, who’s been missing since the first film.  Ryan Gosling will play Officer K, assigned to locate Deckard and stop the world from descending into turmoil and anarchy.  The sequel will be directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival), who will be taking over the chair from Ridley Scott (given an Executive Producer credit on this one.)

The newly-released trailer for  Blade Runner 2049, available on WB’s official YouTube page and below, is slick with overcast locales and dark, depressing sequences.  And of course, the soundtrack and score are hauntingly incredible.  Robin Wright, Jared Leto and Dave Bautista also star, making this film a packed Hollywood powerhouse.  Though this is only the second film in the series, the Blade Runner franchise has been propped up over the years with monstrous marketing, action figures and even a 1997 video game.

Check out the trailer below, and see for yourself.

Blade Runner 2049 is scheduled to be released nationwide on October 6th, 2017.  We here at HNN cannot wait.
