Voltage Pictures Brings The Shocks With ‘Play Dead’

A morgue is a deadly serious place.

Play Dead–a new horror entry from Voltage Pictures–is now in post-production, getting ready to launch at Cannes, according to a report on Screen Daily.

The film–directed by Patrick Lussler (My Bloody Valentine 3D) from a screenplay by Adam Mason and Simon Boyes (Blood River)–stars Bailee Madison (The StrangersPrey at Night), along with Jerry O’Connell, Anthony Turpel, Chris Butler, Chris Lee and Jorge-Luis Pallo.

The storyline follows criminology student Chloe (Madison), who “fakes her own death to break into a local morgue to steal a piece of evidence that ties her younger brother to a crime,” according to the logline.

Once inside, Chloe discovers that the coroner is “using the business as a front to sell body parts. When the coroner discovers Chloe is not dead, a game of cat-and-mouse ensues.” With Chloe, presumably, being the mouse.
