Unleash the monsters.
Creature Commandos–a new animated series from DC Studios–doesn’t yet have a debut date on Max, but the cast of voice actors is now in place, according to a report on Deadline.
The seven-episode series–that follows the creation of a black ops team consisting of prisoners–is the brainchild of DC head honchos James Gunn and Peter Safran, part of their DCU Chapter 1 phase Gods and Monsters. Gunn has written all seven episodes of the series.
In the animated show, Sean Gunn will voice Weasel, Frank Grillo is Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova is Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma is The Bride, Zoe Chao is Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk is Dr, Phosphorus, David Harbour is Eric Frankenstein and Steve Agee is John Economos.
The original DC Comics Creature Commandos–a team of military superhumans set in World War II–was created by writer J.M. DeMatteis and artist Pat Broderick, and debuted in Weird War Tales No. 93 in 1980. The modern team–from writer Tim Truman and artist Scot Eaton–first appeared in Creature Commandos No. 1-8 in 2000.
