The bloodsuckers are spreading.
Two years after Death Rider in the House of Vampires had a limited opening in U.S. theaters, the horror pic has a chance for wider distribution, according to a report on Screen Daily, as VMI Worldwide this week added the film to its stable for the Cannes Film Market.
The vampire spaghetti-western–shot in Los Angeles–was written and directed by Glenn Danzig and produced by James Cullen Bressack. Danzig and Brian and Yvonne Perera served as executive producers.
The feature–which stars Danny Trejo, Julian Sands, Devon Sawa, Kim Director and Eli Roth–follows the mysterious, black-clad Death Rider as he travels through the desert on horseback, seeking the Vampire Sanctuary. The entrance fee is unique: a female virgin.
Once inside, the Death Rider meets Count Holliday, vampire lord of the sanctuary, who warns him against causing any trouble. But, before long, he tangles with such vampires as Carmilla Joe, Mina Belle, Drac Cassidy, Bad Bathory, Kid Vlad and Duke Von Wayne. Names to conjure with.
