Virginia Gardner has signed on the dotted line to join the reimagining of The Breed, according to a report on Deadline. The actress joins Grace Caroline Currey and Page Kennedy on the project. Horror fans may recall that both Gardner and Currey starred in Fall, a tale about two climbers who scale 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, then find themselves stranded with no way down.

The Breed will be directed by Nathan and Griff Furst, who will also produce together through their Curmudgeon Films banner.

The film is said to follow a group of people searching for abandoned dogs on a remote island, with terror-filled consequences.

Released on January 5, 2007, The Breed was produced by Wes Craven and directed by Nicholas Mastandrea. It starred Michelle Rodrigues, Oliver Hudson, Taryn Manning, Eric Lively and Hill Harper.
