The three-episode Volume 2–which kicks off July 27–will be the last go ’round for Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The hit show has already been renewed for a fourth season, with Liam Hemsworth donning the armor and wielding Geralt’s sword for more monster hunting.
The show’s new vision for Hemsworth as Geralt is “very close to the ideas which are embedded in the books, especially book five,” said executive producer Tomek Baginski. “It’s very lore-accurate, but it will be a new Geralt–a new face–and it will be very exciting.”
The first two seasons of the show–created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich–tell the tale of the intertwined destinies of Geralt, Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) in the dangerous world of The Continent–where monsters, elves, gnomes and Witchers battle to survive.
