The fourth (and reportedly final) season of Castlevania on Netflix kicked off a couple of weeks ago, and the popular animated series is going out on a horror high.
And a special video clip that affords a vivid behind-the-scenes look at a brutal fight sequence, as reported by comicbook.com, drives home that point. Check out the Powerhouse Animation video on this page.
The clip shows how a battle being waged by Striga–a powerful vampire warrior introduced to fans in Season 3–was developed from its key animation to the final scene in the third episode of the current season.

The 10-episode Season 4–currently streaming on Netflix–looks in on the realm of Wallachia as it collapses “as factions clash–some attempting to take control, others attempting to bring Dracula back from the dead,” as the synopsis explains. “Nobody is who they seem, and nobody can be trusted. These are the end times.”
Castlevania–which debuted on Netflix in 2017 with just four episodes–is based on the Konami video game franchise. The series–created by Warren Ellis–is directed by Sam Deats and produced by Frederator Studios.
The storyline began in Season 1 when Dracula’s wife was burned at the stake and the Lord of Vampires vowed vengeance on Wallachia. But, monster hunter Trevor Belmont “takes up arms against Dracula’s forces, aided by the magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula’s half-son Alucard.”
The actors giving voice to the animated series include Richard Armitage, Graham McTavish, James Callis, Emily Swallow, Matt Frewer, Tony Amendola and Alejandra Reynoso.
