Vampire Movie ‘Smile’ On The Drawing Board For Netflix

It’s hard not to be intrigued by a vampire film called Smile.

The new horror flick (Smile is the working title at this point) is under development for Netflix, according to a report on Deadline, and at this early juncture, there’s no word on casting or production schedules.

Smile will be directed by William McGregor–perhaps best known for his work on the anthology series His Dark Materials–who also is writing the screenplay with Helen Kingston, who wrote 2019’s The Flood.

The movie follows teenager Millie, “whose life is turned upside-down when she’s bitten by a vampire while traveling with her school in Los Angeles,” according to the logline. “Wanting nothing more than to be human again, Millie learns she can reverse the process if she is able to kill the vampire who bit her before the next sunrise.”

McGregor’s 2019 debut feature film, Gwen, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie was nominated for a British Independent Film Award and won two Welsh BAFTAs.

With so little revealed at this point, keep reading Horror News Network for more updates on Smile on Netflix.
