Do they still scream in space?

The next installment in the classic Alien horror-s/f film franchise–reportedly filming under the working title of Alien: Romulus–has added a new cast member, according to a report on Deadline.

Isabela Merced (Madame Web) this week joined lead Cailee Spaeny (Pacific Rim: Uprising) in the feature from Momentum and 20th Century Studios. The film is directed by Fede Alvarez (2013’s Evil Dead) from a screenplay he wrote with Rodo Sayagues.

Produced by Ridley Scott–who directed the original 1979 Alien blockbuster–the new film will reportedly air on Hulu on an undetermined date.

While no plot details have yet been revealed, 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell said the project was put in motion “purely off the strength of Fede’s pitch. It was a really good story, with a bunch of characters you haven’t seen before.”
