Universal Drops Trailer For M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Old’

by Thomas Tuna

Acclaimed filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is getting ready to unleash his special brand of horror again, and this time it has to do with one of humankind’s greatest fears–growing old.

Old–Shyamalan’s newest thriller from Universal Pictures–is inspired by the French graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters. And the trailer seen on this page will give genre fans a good sense of the weirdness to come.

In this psychological horror feature, the Oscar-nominated moviemaker directs Gael Garcia Bernal and Vicky Krieps, who play parents of a brood of children who are vacationing on a tropical beach when they start to age rapidly…with no apparent reason, as reported by collider.com.

The film–which will hit theaters July 23–also stars Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.

Shyamalan (responsible for The Sixth SenseSplit and Glass) does all the heavy lifting on this film–directing and producing, as well as writing the screenplay. Old is also produced by Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock, with Steven Schneider serving as executive producer.
