The wacky relatives are coming out of the woodwork–and from the nearest lagoon.
Rob Zombie this week resurrected yet another minor character from The Munsters TV series who will apparently make an appearance in his upcoming feature film reboot. Check out of the Instagram post–courtesy of movieweb.com–to get a quick glimpse of a “very fishy” Uncle Gilbert.

Gilbert–as longtime fans of the TV show will recall–appeared in just one episode, but made an impression. The Munsters’ rich relation–seems he fished a lot of treasure from the briny depths throughout his long life–had a habit of dropping by with chests filled with gold and valuable goodies.
Oh yeah, he also bore a strong resemblance to a certain Creature from the Black Lagoon. Richard Hale played the part on the TV show, but there’s been no word yet about who is in the suit this time around.
The PG-rated reboot–which is expected to debut on Peacock or Netflix (depending on which rumor mill you subscribe to) sometime later this year–stars Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, with Richard Brake, Jorge Garcia, Sylvester McCoy, Catherine Schell, Cassandra Peterson, Dee Wallace, Tomas Boykin, Jeremy Wheeler and–in an unknown role–Pat Priest (who played niece Marilyn in the original TV series).
The Munsters TV show–which ran on CBS from 1964-1965–starred Fred Gwynne as Herman, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily and Al Lewis as Grandpa, with Butch Patrick as son Eddie and Priest as Marilyn.
