The smiles just got wider.

The sequel to the 2022 surprise horror hit Smile got closer to its Halloween release this week, as two more cast members joined the project, according to a report on Deadline.

It was just a few days ago that Dylan Gelula joined Kyle Gallner, Rosemarie DeWitt, Naomi Scott and Lukas Gage in the growing cast–and now Raul Castillo (Army of the Dead) and Miles Gutierrez-Riley (The Wilds) are on board. Details on the new roles were not disclosed.

Parker Finn returns as writer/director on the sequel, with Temple Hill serving as producer.

Production schedules and plot details have not yet been announced, but the Paramount Pictures film is slated for an Oct. 18 release date.

The original Smile follows Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) as she suffers through terrifying, unexplained experiences after she witnesses a traumatic incident involving a patient.

To make matter even worse, Cotter then must come face-to-face with “her troubling past in order to survive and escape from her frightening new reality.”
