Witches, vampires and Anne Rice–a treat for any horror fan.
Two upcoming AMC series based on Rice’s bestselling novels–Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire–this week fleshed out their casts, according to a report on Deadline.
For Mayfair Witches–written by showrunner Esta Spalding–Annabeth Gish (Midnight Mass) will play Diedre, Tongayi Chirisa (Antebellum) will portray Citroen, Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men) will play Carlotta, Erica Gimpel (God Friended Me) will portray Ellie and Jen Richards (Her Story) will play Jojo.
The first season of Mayfair Witches–planned for eight episodes–is expected to debut on AMC and AMC+ later this year.
For Interview with the Vampire–led by creator and showrunner Rolin Jones and director Alan Taylor–Maura Grace Athari will play Antoinette, a blues singer “whose relationship with Lestat disrupts the two vampires’ tranquility,” according to the logline.
Athari joins the previously announced Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis, Bailey Bass as Claudia, Assad Zaman as Rashid, Christian Robinson as Levi, Kalyna Coleman as Grace and Eric Bogosian as the interviewer Daniel Molloy.
The first season of Interview with the Vampire–scheduled for eight episodes–will also premiere later this year on AMC and AMC+.
