A Twisted Metal TV series is in the works with Will Arnett as executive producer, according to a report on Deadline. The series is based on a take by the Deadpool team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and will be written by Cobra Kai’s Michael Jonathan Smith. The project hails from Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions.
The series is set to follow a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Twisted Metal first hit the scene in 1995 and is one of the most popular of the PlayStation exclusive franchises. Games were released on Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, PSP and PC.
