Kyle MacLachlan has confirmed that he is joining the cast of the ‘Twin Peaks’ in the upcoming reboot of the series during Showtime’s panel at the Television Critics Association press tour. Showtime president David Nevins spoke about the upcoming reboot and David Lynch’s decision to bring it back saying, “I think it’s something they’ve been toying with for a long time. I think in David’s mind, 25 years seemed like the magic number.” He also said that as the time to start filming approached more members of the original series would be joining the new cast. As he left the stage, MacLachlan told the crowd, “I’m very excited to return to the strange world of Twin Peaks. May the forest be with you.” The reboot is not expected to premiere until 2016.
