Will Norway survive?
Troll–a new Netflix feature based on a monstrous Norwegian fairy tale figure–will debut on the streamer this Christmas season, according to a report on Netflix Life.
The film–from director Roar Uthaug–lands on Netflix Dec. 1, and goes “deep inside the mountain of Dovre, where something gigantic awakens after being trapped for one thousand years,” according to the synopsis.
Destroying everything in its path (why do they always do that?), the creature “is fast approaching the capital of Norway. But how do you stop something you thought only existed in Norwegian folklore?”
Troll–produced by Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud–stars Ine Marie Wilmann, Kirn Faick, Mads Sjogard Pettersen, Gard B. Eidsvold, Pal Richard Lunderby, Pal Anders Nordvi, Eric Vorenholt and Hugo Mikal Skar.
Uthaug said the film “has been developing in the back of my mind for more than 20 years. To finally be able to realize it is truly a dream come true. I can’t wait to unleash this Norwegian monster on the world.”
