“Do you have it in you to make it epic?”
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga–the prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road–is aiming for a spring release date next year, and a trailer and poster have arrived. Check them out on this page.
The horror-fantasy flick–hitting theaters May 24, 2024–is directed by George Miller from a screenplay he wrote with Nico Lathouris. The cast is led by Anya Taylor-Joy in the titular role and Chris Hemsworth as the Warlord Dementus–along with Tom Burke and Alyla Browne.
The film will detail the origins of Furiosa–played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road–in the years before she teamed up with Max Rockatansky. The story follows a young Furiosa as she’s taken from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great biker horde led by Dementus.
As they sweep through the wasteland, the group comes across the Citadel, presided over by Immortan Joe. And, as the two tyrants battle for dominance, Furiosa “must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”
Mad Max: Fury Road–directed by Miller from a screenplay he wrote with Lathouris and Brendan McCarthy–earned 10 Academy Award nominations, but underperformed at the box office, pulling in $375 million worldwide on a $185-million budget.
