Monsters prowling on Halloween–perfect.
The Lair–the latest horror flick from Neil Marshall of The Descent and The Reckoning fame–will hit the big screen and on-demand just in time for Halloween, and now a trailer and poster hype the terrors to come. Check out the video on this page.
The RLJE Films entry–which hits theaters Oct. 28 and will also start streaming on Shudder early next year–is written, directed and produced by Marshall, and stars Jonathan Howard, Charlotte Kirk and Jamie Bamber, along with Leon Ockenden, Mark Strepan, Hadi Khanjanpour, Harry Taurasi, Kibong Tanji and Troy Alexander.
In The Lair, Sgt. Tom Hook leads a command to rescue Lt. Kate Sinclair, a Royal Air Force pilot shot down over Afghanistan. Sinclair takes refuge in a long-abandoned bunker and “unwittingly releases a deadly man-made biological weapon called the Ravagers–half-human, half-alien and hungry for human flesh,” according to the synopsis.
Hook and his team–accompanied by British SAS troops–“must save Sinclair from the Ravagers before they overrun the area and, potentially, the world.”
Marshall said The Lair “a full-on monster movie with action and explosions and blood and guts. I wanted to make a creature feature–I wanted to do some monsters.”
