What is it about a dimly-lit basement that chills the spine?
Well, that feeling may be ramped up with The Cellar–a new horror feature from RLJE Films–that will land in theaters and on Shudder April 15. Check out the frightening trailer and poster for the film–courtesy of firstshowing.net–on this page.
The movie–from writer/director Brendan Muldowney (Savage)–recently had its world premiere at FrightFest Glasgow and SXSW.
Starring Elisha Cuthbert (House of Wax, Captivity), Eoin Macken, Abby Fitz and Dylan Fitzmaurice-Brady, the film follows Keira Woods (Cuthbert), whose daughter “mysteriously vanishes in the cellar of their new home,” according to the logline.
Woods soon discovers there is “an ancient and powerful entity controlling their home–built by an occultist–that she will have to face or risk losing her family’s souls forever.”
