Cutting necks and cashing checks. Nice work if you can find it.

Day Shift–a different kind of vampire movie set for a Netflix debut next month–got its first full trailer this week, and it shows a few unique ways of dealing with bloodsuckers. Check out the trailer–courtesy of Entertainment Weekly–on this page.

The R-rated film–set to hit the streamer Aug. 12–is helmed by first-time feature director J.J. Perry from a screenplay by Tyler Tice (with some assistance from Shay Hatten).

Day Shift stars Oscar winner Jamie Foxx as a “hard-working, blue-collar dad who wants to provide a good life for his daughter,” according to the logline. And so, to augment his income from his pool-cleaning gigs, he hunts and kills vampires as part of an international union of vampire hunters.

Turns out, there’s a lucrative market in the San Fernando Valley for vampire teeth. Who knew?

The cast also includes Snoop Dogg as another vampire hunter, Karla Souza as a vengeance-seeking vampire, Dave Franco as a rep of the vampire hunter’s union, Scott Adkins, Megan Good, Eric Lange, Zion Broadnax, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey and C.S. Lee.

Shaun Redick–who produced the film along with Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz and Yvette Yates Redick–called Day Shift “a pulse-pounding thrill ride–with action, danger, grounded comedy and a deep mythology.” All that and vampires losing their fangs the hard way.
