“He’s not imaginary…and he’s not your friend.”
Imaginary–a new horror flick from Blumhouse and Lionsgate–is headed to theaters next spring, and the first trailer dropped this week. Check out the eerie video on this page.
The film–hitting the big screen March 8, 2024–is directed by Jeff Wadlow from a screenplay he wrote with Greg Erb, Jason Oremland and Bryce McGuire. Wadlow also produced the movie, along with Jason Blum.
Starring DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Betty Buckley, Taegen Braun, Pyper Braun, Matthew Sato and Veronica Falcon, the film follows Jessica (Wise), who moves back into her childhood home with her stepdaughter Alice (Braun)–who develops a strange attachment to a stuffed toy bear named Chauncey.
But things get very weird when the games Alice play with the bear become more sinister, and the girl’s behavior becomes a cause for concern. Then, when Alice intervenes, she realizes that Chauncey is “much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed it to be.”
