Deserted islands can be more than they seem.
Influencer–a new horror pic described as a “suspenseful exploration of the world of social media”–debuts on Shudder May 26, and a trailer has popped up to set the stage. Check out the video on this page.
The film–directed by Kurtis David Harder from a screenplay he wrote with Tesh Guttikonda–follows Madison (Emily Tennant), a social media influencer as she travels in Thailand. Her boyfriend couldn’t make the trip, but she meets CW (Cassandra Naud), a traveler who offers to take her to some “Instagram-worthy locations,” according to the synopsis.
After showing Madison the sights, “things take a different turn when CW brings her to a surprise location–a deserted island that’s completely off the grid.” Sara Canning and Rory J. Saper also star in the feature.
