The new horror/sf feature The Bunker has lined up a rare combination of genre acting talent.
Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination), Tobin Bell (Saw) and Chelsea Edmundson (The Black String, Army of the Dead) lead the cast of The Bunker, according to Deadline. The film is now shooting in Los Angeles.
The feature is directed by Brian Hanson (The Black String) from a screenplay he wrote with Charles Bunce. Few details are known at this time, but the movie is set during a “mysterious alien invasion”, according to the synopsis. A government scientist (played by Edmundson) is sealed in an underground bunker “and must create a bio-weapon to stop the mysterious travelers before they take over the Earth.” Can’t we all just get along?
The film is produced by Kayli Fortun, Sharif Ibrahim, Kelby Thwaits, Hanson and Bunce. This team also has joined with genre consulting firm Blood Oath, that includes Aaron B. Koontz and David Guglielmo.
The Blood Oath team in a statement described The Bunker as “a fast-paced, character-driven story within a high context none of us had seen before. With legends Tony Todd and Tobin Bell, we believe it will be a perfect fit for audiences.”
