Tom Hardy Gets Co-Star For Marvel’s ‘Venom 3’ Feature

Venom gets a new playmate.

The storyline of the next entry in the popular Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures Venom series is being kept under lock and key for the moment, but the cast is starting to take shape.

Emmy Award nominee Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) this week signed on to join returning star Tom Hardy in the horror/super-hero saga, according to a report on Deadline. Temple’s role in the film has not yet been revealed.

Venom 3 (the title for now) is directed by Kelly Marcel (who wrote and produced the first two films in the franchise) from a screenplay she wrote with Hardy.

All that’s known about the feature at this time is that Hardy will again play the dual role of Eddie Brock/Venom, and that it will likely be the final chapter in the franchise–at least the last Venom film with Hardy as the lead. No release window has yet been announced.

The second film in the continuing series–Venom: Let There Be Carnage–follows Brock’s confrontation with serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) after he becomes the host of the symbiote Carnage. A box office smash, the film raked in more than $500 million worldwide on a $110-million budget.
