Tom Bateman, known from ‘ Da vinci’s Demons’ and the Tunnel, has been cast as Robert Jekyll in the upcoming ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ from ITV. Robert Jekyll is the grandson of the original infamous Dr.Jekyll. Richard E. Grant has been cast as Sir Roger Bulstrode, who leads the secret government department M10, also know as “The Invisible Men”. Natalie Gumede has been cast as a love interest of Robert named Bella. The series will be an action-packed mix of mystery, fantasy, horror and sci-fi. The Jekyll character is sensitive and naive, while Hyde is a superhero, with super powers, speed, and strength, who he transforms into when he is extremely angry or stressed, or when the lives of others are threatened. Some other names added to the cast include: Stephanie Hyam (Murdered By My Boyfriend), Donald Sumpter (Game Of Thrones), Amit Shah (The Smoke), and Phil McKee (Ripper Street) to name a few. Production on the series is to start later this month.
