Godzilla: Minus One–from writer/director Takahashi Yamazaki (Parasyte)–will mark the legendary lizard’s 70th birthday, and will release in Japan Nov. 3 and hit screens in the U.S. Dec. 1.
The new film–set in post-war Japan–will once again show that Godzilla is “a terrifying and overwhelming force,” according to Toho president Koji Ueda,
The movie’s concept, Ueda explained, is that Japan, “which has been devastated by the war, now faces a new threat in Godzilla–bringing the country into the minus.”
