Tim Burton to Auction Iconic Props from ‘Edward Scissorhands,’ ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ ‘Beetlejuice,’ and More

Tim Burton just turned 60 yesterday, and he’s marking the occasion by offering the greatest reason to default on my mortgage that I ever did see! The legendary writer/director/producer has decided to make some of the most iconic props from his films available to wealthy collectors through an exclusive auction with Prop Store, a movie collectibles company which operates in Los Angeles and London.

The Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will be held in London on September 20th, 2018. Burton’s contributions include such gems as Johnny Depp’s Edward Scissorhands costume, a sandworm puppet from Beetlejuice, a landscape and characters from A Nightmare Before Christmas, and various Catwoman costume pieces from Batman Returns. According to ABC 7 Eyewitness News, the collection is estimated to be valued at more than $4.5 million. Below are a sampling of items from the auction, courtesy of Prop Store, and you can find the rest of the catalog at www.propstore.com.

Prop Store will reveal more pieces from the catalog as we near closer to the September auction. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for other tidbits from this iconic auction, and full coverage of all-things Tim Burton!

John has loved movie monsters for as far back as he can remember. He's since collected up as many comics, statues, and autographed material related to movies and music that he can get his hands on. He is particularly interested in the critical and analytical discussion of the best stories the horror genre has to offer. One of his largest works on the topic is a study on the portrayals of people with disabilities in horror films.
