A mystery in the desert just got a few more players.
Man’s Son–a new XYZ Films horror entry inspired by modern occult activity in the California desert–this week added a trio of actors to its growing ensemble, according to a report on Deadline.
Will Peltz (Unfriended), Sarah Dumont (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse) and Sydelle Noel (GLOW) have joined the previously announced Frank Grillo, Jaime King, Katherine Hughes and Josh Plasse on the horror flick. In related news, Voltage Pictures has come aboard to handle international sales.
Man’s Son–directed by Remy Grillo from a screenplay by Plasse and Brev Moss–follows a young couple (Hughes and Plasse) “hoping to create an audition tape for an upcoming Charles Manson film,” according to the logline.
But when they choose a desert Airbnb as their backdrop, “the dark events of the audition material slowly slip into their reality, until they find themselves intertwined in an occult, sinister plot led by King and Grillo’s characters.”
XYZ Films–which acquired the North American rights to the film–plans a theatrical release later this year or in early 2023.
