Third ‘Venom’ Entry Lands Summer 2024 Release Date

Venom just made next summer even hotter.

Sony Pictures this week confirmed a release date for the Marvel horror/super-hero Venom 3 (or whatever the final title ends up being), and it’s earlier than previously expected.

The next entry in the successful franchise–currently on pause due to the SAG-AFTRA strike–reportedly had been aiming for an October 2024 debut, but the film will now hit the big screen July 12, 2024, according to a report on Deadline.

The feature–which has yet to reveal any storyline details–is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote with star Tom Hardy. The cast is rounded out by Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple.

The new film reportedly will be the final chapter in the series–or at least the last time Hardy plays the dual roles of Eddie Brock and Venom.

The franchise’s second film–Venom: Let There Be Carnage–follows Brock’s battle with serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) after he becomes the host of the symbiote Carnage. The movie was a box office hit, earning $500 million worldwide on a $110-million budget.
