“The dangers we’ve seen foretell an even more menacing future.”

This Thursday, June 29, will see the debut of the much-anticipated five-episode Volume 1 of the third season of The Witcher on Netflix. Check out the final teaser of the bloody action on this page.

The upcoming season–the last one for star Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia–will wrap up with the three episodes of Volume 2 starting July 27.

The show has already been renewed for a fourth season, with Liam Hemsworth (of The Hunger Games fame) replacing Cavill as the titular Witcher and continuing the tale of high adventure and monster laying.

Executive producer Tomek Baginski has said the showrunners have a “very, very good plan to introduce our new Geralt, and our new vision for Geralt with Liam. It’s very close to the ideas which are embedded in the books–especially book five. It’s very lore accurate. But it will also be a new Geralt, a new face for he character, and it will be very exciting to see.”

The first two seasons of the show–created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich–tells the story of the intertwined destinies of Geralt, Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) in the dangerous world of The Continent–where monsters, elves, gnomes and Witchers battle to survive.
