In the photo, star Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia) is shown waiting between shots with Freya Allan (Princess Ciri) and Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg).
The show’s second season saw Geralt take Ciri to his home of Kaer Morhen, where Witchers are trained to battle monsters. During their stay, Geralt tries to prepare the princess for the dangers ahead, while learning something of her dark powers.
In Season 3, according to the synopsis, “monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture Ciri,” but Geralt takes her into hiding, “determined to protect his newly reunited family.”
Meanwhile, entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer “leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers.” But, they find out they have landed in a “battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery.”
In order to survive, they must “fight back, put everything on the line–or risk losing each other forever.”
The Witcher–led by showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich–also stars newcomer Safiyya Ingar, whose role has not been confirmed, but speculation has her perhaps playing the role of an archer named Milva.
No debut date for Season 3 has yet been announced, so keep reading Horror News Network for the next update on The Witcher on Netflix.
