No resurrection here.
The Winchesters–the prequel to the long-running Supernatural TV series–recently was cancelled by The CW after just one season, and has been looking for another landing place ever since. But, according to a report on Deadline, that place could not be found.
Warner Bros. Television reportedly exhausted all avenues and–despite a vigorous #SaveTheWinchesters campaign–it would appear the short-lived show will not see Season 2.
The show–led by executive producer (and Supernatural) star Jensen Ackles, along with Robbie Thompson and Danneel Ackles–stars Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger as Mary and John, the parents of Dean and Sam Winchester.
The Winchesters–told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (voiced by Jensen Ackles)–follows “the untold love story of how John met Mary, and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world,” according to the synopsis.
