‘The Winchesters’ Adds Cast Member, Drops Trailer

This is one supernatural story that has more to tell.

The Winchesters–the prequel to the long-running Supernatural series–kicks off Oct. 11 on The CW, and a new trailer has dropped to give fans a sneak peek at the series. Check out the video–courtesy of comicbook.com–on this page.

One new addition to the cast has also been announced–Bridget Regan will play “the honey-voiced radio DJ Rockin’ Roxy, whose listeners aren’t all of the human variety.” Regan is known to genre fans for her role in the Sam Raimi TV series Legend of the Seeker.

Set prior to the “supernatural” adventures of Sam and Dean, The Winchesters tells the story of their parents, John and Mary–told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles).

In the new series–written by executive producer Robbie Thompson (with Glenn Winter directing the pilot)–John Winchester (Drake Rodger) meets Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) “and puts it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world,” according to the synopsis.

When John returns home from Vietnam, “a mysterious encounter sparks a new mission to trace his father’s past. He crosses paths with 19-year-old demon hunter Mary, who is also searching for answers after the disappearance of her father.”

In addition to Ackles, Rodger, Donnelly and Regan, the cast includes Bianca Kajilich as Millie Winchester, Demetria McKinney as Ada Monroe, Nida Khurshid as Latika Desai and Jojo Fleites as Carlos Cervantez.
