The Walking Dead Weekly Wrap Up – “Slabtown”
Synopsis: A group of other survivors are encountered.
Thoughts: **SPOILERS** Well Walking Dead fans if you’ve been wondering what happened to Beth, you now have your answer. Season 5 started off strong at an exhilarating pace. This episode, especially by comparison, unfortunately seemed pretty weak. While the back-story of what happened to Beth did leave viewers curious, I’m not convinced a full episode dedicated to it was necessary. The whole scene with Officer Gorman trying to force himself on her was obviously going to take place from the moment he first appeared on screen. The concept of the hospital is an inventive scenario for the apocalypse, however the execution of it left me feeling disinterested. For this first time in a VERY long time, The Walking Dead really didn’t hold my attention as this was slow-paced and extremely predictable.
There were some bloody and gruesome scenes to satisfy the gore whores in us all. The most interesting element of this episode was, of course, the ending when we see Carol brought into the hospital. So what now? Will we see Noah again? Does the emergence of Carol at the end of the episode foreshadow Beth’s return to the group? Stay tuned…
