The Walkers just keep on stepping.
Two of the AMC spinoffs of The Walking Dead were given new life this week, as they have been renewed for second seasons, according to a report on Deadline.
The Walking Dead: Dead City–set in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan–and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon–situated in a strange, new France–will be back for more zombie action. Dead City airs its Season 1 finale tomorrow, July 23, while Daryl Dixon will debut on AMC Sept. 10.
The six-episode first season of Dead City follows Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) as they traverse a bizarre New York City that has been cut off from the mainland. The former metropolis is now filled with the dead–and others–who ave made the city their own.
In Daryl Dixon, star Norman Reedus is washed ashore in France and struggles to find out how and why he got there. As he journeys across the broken landscape, trying to find his way home, the connections he forms complicate his ultimate plan.
In discussing the two renewals, AMC president of entertainment Dan McDermott said the network “can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to Manhattan for more action with Maggie and Negan. And, ahead of its debut, we’re thrilled to double-down on Daryl Dixon, as we bring the apocalypse to France–transforming Notre Dame and other iconic locales into a landscape unlike anything we’ve seen before.”
