The spinoff–slated to hit AMC sometime next year–will follow the intrepid Dixon (after the final TWD episode airs next month) as “he wakes up and finds himself somewhere on the European continent and tries to piece together what happened,” said AMC president Dan McDermott. “How did he get here? How’s he going to get home?”
As Reedus explained it recently, “Somehow, I get put there, and I don’t go there of my own free will.” The actor added he’s been in France “location scouting and casting and everything for the last couple of months. It’s epic. Castles and moats of castles–it’s just crazy.”
Little else has been revealed about the series–led by showrunner David Zabel and executive producer Angela Kang–but more details should be forthcoming soon.
