‘The Twin’ Brings Family Horror Home To Shudder In May

Apparently, there exists an evil only a mother could love.

The Scandinavian supernatural horror flick The Twin will enjoy a day-and-date theatrical and Shudder premiere May 6, and a tantalizing trailer for the movie–courtesy of JoBlo.com–can be seen on this page.

The Twin–the English-language feature film debut of director Taneli Mustonen, who also wrote the screenplay with Aleksi Hyvarinen–stars Teresa Palmer (Lights Out) and Steven Cree (Martyrs Lane).

The film follows married couple Rachel and Anthony, who are dealing with “a tragic accident that claimed the life of one of their twins,” according to the logline. They relocate to the other side of the world with their surviving son in the hope of building a new life.

But, what starts out as a time of healing in the quiet Scandinavian countryside “soon takes an ominous turn when Rachel begins to unravel the torturous truth about her son–and confronts the malicious forces attempting to take hold of him.”

The Twin–produced by Hyvarinen–has Joris van Wijk, Emily Gatto, Fabien Westerhoff and Toni Valla as executive producers.
