‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ Game Releases In August

by Thomas Tuna

This summer just got a lot hotter (and bloodier).

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre asymmetrical horror video game–based, of course, on Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic film–has finally received an Aug. 18 release date. Check out the game trailer on this page for several sneak peeks at the mayhem to come.

The game–developed by Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham–will also start a technical test May 25–but only on PCs through Steam.

As explained, the game will feature three killers who hunt down four survivors. Players will control not only Leatherface, but new Slaughter family members. The game will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Game Pass.

Bringing the familiar characters to life in the game will be Kane Hodder as Leatherface and Edwin Neal as the Hitchhiker–as well as Scout Taylor-Compton, Kristina Klebe, Sean Whalen and Damian Maffei.
